SOUTH PERTH Junior Football Teams

WELCOME TO THE 2022 SEASON!

Home Ground Location:

Challenger Reserve, Challenger Drive, Manning.

SPUFC fees for Juniors:

11 and under: $275 to $295

12 and over: $300 to $320

Please note: Age brackets are categorised by year of birth. For example, if the child turns 10 in 2022, the child will be in the 10s team. Girls may play up or down an age bracket, boys may play up an age bracket. Allocating a player outside of their expected age bracket is at the Juniors Technical Director and the Juniors Coordinator’s discretion. Advanced players may play two age brackets higher, but only with parental approval and assessment by FootballWest. For further information, please contact juniors@southperthunitedfc.com.au

Note: Ages 9 and below usually train on Tuesday night, ages 10 and above usually train on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

*Please Note: Individual coaches may adjust training dates and times for their teams.

Games:

Games will be held on Sunday mornings between early-April and mid-September. They are played at varying locations throughout Perth. FootballWest releases fixture schedules in late March. Game day fixtures may change as late as Friday night before a game, so fixtures should be checked and confirmed on Saturday mornings. When accessing FootballWest fixtures, be sure to select the correct round to view the date, playing time and locations.

Clothing:

Appropriate clothing will be required for training and games. This includes soccer boots, shin pads, long socks and water bottles. As part of your child’s registration, they will receive long socks and shorts to keep, and a game day shirt for return at the end of the season. Additional club logo clothing (in children and adult sizes) will be available to order at the beginning of the season, at the family’s own expense.

REBOOT:

SPUFC runs a soccer boot and shin pad swap and donate program. Take what you need, donate what you don’t, but please make sure that the items are in good condition. Any excess stock will be donated to Luke’s Boots for The Outback in the middle of the season.

Volunteering:

Our club thrives on a strong volunteering spirit! A little bit shared by many, allows us to better support our kids, our club families, and all the hardworking committee volunteers at our club. Without our dedicated committee, none of whom are paid, our club would not function so smoothly! Volunteering for events will be allocated to teams and will generally involve about 3 to 5 hours of volunteering per family season. But please feel free to contribute more time if you can! Volunteering opportunities include:

  • Coaching (Note: Minimum commitment 2.5 hours per week for training and games for ages 5 to 8, up to 5 hours for older age groups)
  • Assistant coaching
  • Referee on game days (Note: no qualification required for ages 12 and under)
  • Team manager (Note: average 1.5 hours commitment per week)
  • Juniors Events Committee member (~ 10 hours per season)
  • Juniors merchandise and uniform committee member (~ 10 hours per season)
  • Assisting with equipment set up and packing away for training and games
  • Stock-taking of storerooms
  • Clean up of the club house
  • Issuing of uniforms
  • Setting up coach’s game day bags and first aid kits
  • Assisting with the canteen and BBQ (Note: average time 2 hours per session, maximum of five games per year)
  • Line marking (~2.5 hours per session)

Appropriate information, supervision and training will be provided to volunteers.
